Here at Delmarva Golden Retrievers I have a very selective breeding program. As a responsible breeder, I am committed to producing healthy, sound puppies that conform to the Golden standard in looks and temperament. An exhaustive and thorough research of pedigrees insures me that I am making the right choice not only for my breeding program but also for the betterment of the breed in general. I typically breed anywhere from 1-3 litters per year.
Each litter is raised in my home under the best possible controlled conditions. The whelping room is monitored by closed circuit TV so I can keep a watchful eye on things but still give the dam her privacy. Before leaving my home at the age of 8-9 weeks, I introduce the litter to other dogs and other people. They have been on a variety of surfaces and have played in several different areas of my home/yard. I feel this produces a mentally healthy and outgoing puppy which adapts easily to new surroundings.
Puppies are de-wormed, vaccinated, started on heartworm prevention and checked by a Veterinarian before leaving my home. Pet puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract and are registered with AKC on a "Limited Registration" (click for explanation). Each client receives a Puppy Packet which includes a 3 generation pedigree, photos of the parents, clearances on the parents, a record of vaccinations and medications to date, a sales agreement, a toy containing the scent of their littermates. I offer a written 2 year warranty against specific hereditary diseases. I am available to answer any questions or concerns you may have throughout the life of your Golden. Each potential client must complete a Puppy Application and attend an in person interview (or by phone) before a reservation will be accepted. Puppies that I feel to be show/performance quality will be placed first.
Please Note: Puppies are placed with their new owners based on the completed Puppy Application. I will choose the puppy best suited to the clients lifestyle. I do not let the owner choose their own puppy. Show/performance potential puppies will be chosen first and always takes priority. Show puppies will ONLY be placed in homes where I feel they will be shown.

Reservation Process - Effective December 2009
1) Complete the "Puppy Application" .... located here. (Reservations fill quickly)
2) Once the application is reviewed, and I feel that you may be a good match for one of my puppies, I will contact you for a personal interview which will be by phone or in person.
3) If accepted, your name will be placed on our waiting list. Once the breeding has taken place and pregnancy has been confirmed, I will ask for a deposit of $300 to hold your reservation (deposits are refundable up until the puppy is 5 weeks old. After 5 weeks, no deposit will be returned)
4) At 6 weeks of age, I will ask for the balance due. Personal checks will be accepted but must clear the bank before you take your puppy home. If you prefer to pay at time of pick-up, please pay with a cashiers check. Personal checks WILL NOT be accepted at pick-up time. NO EXCEPTIONS.
*** Please note: Adding your name to the waiting list does not guarantee that you will receive a puppy. Variables include: number of puppies whelped, show vs. pet quality and the sex of the puppies.
